For biomedical engineering-physics (BMEP) to be established as a healthcare discipline, BMEP programs should offer courses addressing the scope of BMEP in tertiary-care hospitals: in diagnostics and interventional procedures, customized prostheses and organ-assistive devices. In this regard, the incorporation of BMEP in medical education is particularly relevant. BMEP can contribute to the modern MD medical curriculum (in the teaching of physiological systems and organ systems) as well as to postgraduate specialties
