The optimization of V-groove-MOCVD grown quantum wire lasers, including the polarization properties, is studied using vectorial eigenmodes and QWR gain spectra (4/spl times/4 k/spl middot/p method). The results are also of interest to interpret future near field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) measurements.
