An artificial photoreceptor based on bacteriorhodopsin (bR) photocell is presented in the paper. We study the performances of the lens-system with bR as a photochromic material. The study focuses on image-detecting like that processing in the human eye. The imaging capability of the photoreceptor is improved by the original lens-system design
