Summary form only given. The thermodiffusive mechanism of photorefractivity can become particularly important and dominant for relatively high-power laser beams used for recording of holographic gratings in photorefractive polymer-dispersed liquid crystals (PDLC). The relaxation of the space-charge field in the polymer matrix of a photorefractive PDLC is determined by the charge density as well by the mass and thermal diffusion processes. We have found the conditions of space-charge field storage in the polymer matrix showing that it can be fulfilled in typical experimental situations.
