Indoor navigation is an exciting new concept that can significantly improve user experience when navigating in closed environments. Developing indoor navigation system from a theoretical concept into a commercial product is a challenging task and requires many practical issues to be addressed. This paper describes our experience in developing an indoor navigation system that is based on micro-simulator technology. By applying low complexity, practical algorithms, we have managed to achieve navigation accuracy of few meters which is sufficient for all practical purposes. This accuracy was measured in a few laboratory experiments utilizing Galileo satellite navigation (GSN) micro simulators using off-the-shelf, unmodified, standard compliant GPS receiver. These experiments demonstrated the feasibility of such a solution and pave the way to future improvements.
