The report describes the possibility of application the ultracapacitors in the widely used frequency-controlled electric drives. The energy efficiency estimation of using the ultracapacitors in the different purposes electric drives is described. The theoretical and experimental investigation results for electric drives with capacitive energy storage are shown.
