ATM traffic sources and core network dimensioning

This paper describes the main results of a project which had as the goal modelling traffic produced by implementations of certain broadband services. Several sources are modelled and for some effective bandwidth is calculated. First experiences of dimensioning of VPCs by effective bandwidth using simulations were conducted and proved successful.
