A practical case of ripple control (RC) signal attenuation in the Slovenian utility network after the installation of passive filtering devices in a pharmaceutical plant is analyzed. The paper analyses ripple control propagation using a digital simulation model of the network, ripple control signal transmitters and passive filters. Two possible ways for the solution of the ripple control signal attenuation are proposed and analyzed. One solution is an installment of a blocking filter on the medium voltage level. The other solution is a retuning of the existing filter to a different resonating frequency. A comparison of the results for both solutions is made.
