This very interesting and useful contribution is from John Aurand of Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico, and has to do with calculating the directivity of an existing pyramidal horn, using simplified expressions for the aperturep hase errors in its principal planes. A sequel, Part 2, covering a novel method for designing horns of any desired directivity will be published in the next issue
