This paper proposes an Advanced Location-based Flooding Algorithm for FORTEL protocol, called ALFA. The principal idea is to utilize the location table used by the protocol for data routing to reduce the number of nodes that re-broadcast update packets and consequently, the network delay. The Performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm shows a reduction in the routing overhead by approximately 50% when compared FORTEL with basic flooding and FORTEL with the ALFA algorithm applied.
