It has been recently shown by Oteafy and Chiasson that global asymptotic convergence properties can be guaranteed under certain conditions for the open-loop induction motor, that is for the induction motor which is fed by balanced sinusoidal voltages of constant electrical frequency. The slightly different analysis of this note not only confirms those results from a different point of view (involving the natural controlled variables rotor speed and flux modulus) but also clarifies that, under similar conditions, global exponential convergence properties can be actually established.
