The aim of this article is to identify and analyze relations between the security of energy supply and used regulatory instruments. The point of reference for further discussions will be a thesis that in Poland we are beyond the security of energy supplies now and we are in a position of lack of clear goals related to the environmental protection. However, used regulatory instruments became ineffective - they do not lead the targets.
