The Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS) is the oldest continuously operating conference devoted to circuits and systems in the United States, and as the 40th meeting is scheduled to be held in Sacramento, California, on August 3-6, 1997, it is felt that the history of this conference should be recorded before facts about its origins and its past are forgotten and lost forever
