The most critical part of the course is the application of all the preceeding principles to a real problem. Sources for the student projects are various: campus problems like designing a user friendly stage lighting design tool, industry problems like banking issues, or government problems like a new system for gauging tides in the Hudson River. The professor can use all these resources to secure possible projects. A complete project produced by a student team is provided in its entirety by way of example.
