The static var compensator (SVC) can realize two-direction, continuous, and quick adjustment of reactive power, and it is its prominent features. SVC is recognized as the most remarkable device for voltage control, stabilization and damped oscillation of power system. According to the features of the south Hebei power grid, against partial power system which is impacted by stronger load, and the wind farm of which output power is influenced hardly by natural resources, plenty of simulation analyses about cut-in SVC are performed in this paper. The result proved that SVC can reduce the pulsation of partial voltage, and improve the quality of electric energy.
