Assembly modeling, one of the most important technologies of virtual assembly, not only reflects the integrity of assembly information, but also serves as the foundation of assembly simulation and planning. In order to extract the complete assembly information from assembly model, this paper proposes a hierarchical constraint assembly model for assembly sequence planning. It is established on detailed analyses of the assembly object attribute information. Here, this paper introduce the concept of block to split construction of assembly object by way of the first partitioning again layering, but the constraint relations is formed among different block and different layer. Then, the Hierarchical Constraint Assembly Associated Diagram is produced to explain assembly relations of model. Finally this paper use the method of CAMIEA to extract assembly information of three dimensional simulation models. Thus assembly information can be extracted effectively to guide assembly sequence and the forming process of assembly path.
