This paper presents novel CRLH (Composite Right/Left Handed) metamaterial structures that are used as leaky-wave and resonant type antennas. As it will be shown, the designed radiating CRLH structures exhibit rich and unusual properties, not found at conventional antennas: the ability to scan the main radiation lobe from negative to positive elevation angles and the existence of positive, negative and zero-order resonances.
