Layered P2P streaming has drawn great interest in mobile cellular network in recent years. As an important technology in this application, data scheduling plays a crucial role in achieving a high Quality of Service (QoS). The Rarest-First (RF) Scheme used in Layered P2P streaming has obtained a good performance in server load and throughput of peer nodes. However, it also brings some chanllenges, such as more interruption times and useless packets. In this paper, we propose a new data scheduling scheme based on the RF, named Advanced Rarest-First (A-RF) Scheme. It adds three new mechanisms to improve the QoS while maintaining the advantages of RF. Simulation result shows that our scheme is efficient at obtaining a better QoS performance with a small network cost.
