This paper provides a method for rail traffic passenger flow assignment and simulation evaluation, focusing on passenger flow and transportation resource assignment and selection in the optimization process of line planning. Distributed artificial intelligence is introduced to research the decision of passenger flow assignment methods based on distributed autonomous decision-making of high-speed rail traffic, since decision making during resource allocation is so complicated. This method can represent resource competition, passenger flow cooperation and the coordination of different kinds of transportation resource. Meanwhile, a simulation model and method for passenger flow assignment is proposed based on passengers' choice behavior to describe the status changes of traffic flow and transportation facilities under different scenarios of a given train service plan. This method not only reflects the relationship between passenger flow and transportation service, and different kinds of transportation resource in different districts, but also accomplishes the analysis and the evaluation of passenger flow assignment.
