In this paper, the analysis of slot loaded equitriangular microstrip antenna (ETMA) with the help of cavity model analysis and coaxial feeding is presented. On loading slot negative capacitive reactance is added in the equivalent circuit of ETMA. Results come out in the form of significant change in resonance frequency with a slot on the patch as compared to patch without slot. It is observed that the resonance frequency decreases with increasing slot width for a given slot length but it increases with increasing the slot length for a given slot width. It is found that the real part of the input impedance at resonance increases in linear manner with increasing slot width but it decreases in a nonlinear manner with increasing the slot length for all slot width considered.
