This paper presents a complete design scheme of the Space Vector PWM (SVPWM) integrated circuit, including dynamic optimization of switch frequency, dynamic modulation with variation DC-link, and linear- and over-modulation strategies. The entire design is implemented and verified on a single Altera FPGA. A new Top-Down design method on FPGA is proposed in this paper. Generally speaking of the design method, the function model is built in Simulink with DSP Builder environment, and the behavioral model is programmed with VHDL in the same software platform. The whole system is automatically compiled in Simulink and loaded on the FPGA using the Real Time Simulation platform.
