This paper proposes a new approach named electrocorticographic (ECoG) signals characteristics driven approach (ESCDA) to precisely estimate focal sources. The ESCDA is driven by the unique spatio-temporal-spectral characteristics of brain activity provided by ECoG signals. From feasibility studies, it is concluded that the ESCDA is a reasonable and robust technique to enhance the performance of focal sources estimation.
