A growing number of corporations and institutions are beginning to recognize that wireless data communications can be a viable advantage in an increasing competitive marketplace. The author discusses the selection of an application which is to be integrated with wireless data, the choice of carrier, middleware, hardware selection, the pilot phase and implementation phase in implementing the application, successful applications and the possibility of using wireless LANs.
