This paper deals with the design of the FIR filter whose parameters are obtained using an evolutionary algorithm. It explores usage problems of evolutionary algorithms in adaptive devices domain, then discusses implementation of the adaptive FIR filter prototype based on the standard genetic algorithm realized by FPGA circuit, and continues by discussion of advantages and disadvantages of such an implementation.
