An interleaved OFDMA system with a new carrier frequency offset (CFO) correction scheme is studied. The previous proposals for OFDMA compensating for the CFO effect at the OFDMA receiver can remain multiple access interference (MAI). Although some MAI cancellation schemes have been proposed to mitigate the MAI effect, we found that the minimum mean square error (MMSE) performance of demodulated signals is related to a common CFO (CCFO) value which should be corrected before the DFT. In this paper we explore an adaptive CCFO correction scheme and evaluate the performance of the interleaved OFDMA receiver utilizing the new CCFO correction scheme to achieve the optimal MSE performance. Simulation results show that the previous proposals for OFDMA in conjunction with the new CCFO correction algorithm can have better performance than their original proposals in interleaved OFDMA systems.
