Paradigm shift in RF avionics sensor implementation

Military avionics developers have increasing impetus to provide more capability at lower cost. Coupled with these user needs are an increasing focus on the application of commercial off-the-shelf products and technology. The scope of sensor system design is focusing from highly autonomous to networked operation. Thus, military avionics are evolving to a form more synergistic with commercial telesystems practice. These changes in scope are changing or removing previous system boundaries and impacting business relationships between contractors.
