The iron rich intermetallic compound YxDy1-xFe11.35Nb0.65 (x=0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) and their carbides YxDy1-xFe11.35Nb0.65C have been investigated. By the substitution of Y for Dy, for the alloys, the spin reorientation transition temperature (Tsr1) decreases, and the saturation magnetization Ms and the anisotropy field Ba increase. The carbide YxDy1-xFe11.35Nb0.65C has a Tc around 710 K, Ms in the range 90~140 JT-1 kg-1 and μ0Ha, changing rapidly with Y content at room temperature
