A data acquisition system for a fiber optic sensor array is presented. The design considerations of the system including fiber optic components, electrical components, data acquisition and processing components are discussed. The completed sensor system is capable of measuring the spatial distribution of physical fields such as temperature, pressure, and displacement discretely. The software used for data processing utilizes both Pascal and Assembly languages. Further testing on the system consists of determining the linearity of each sensor in the array and correcting any discrepancies associated with each by using a curve fitting algorithm
