Trends in postgraduate and postdoctoral study by electrical and computer engineering students

Using information from the database of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, statistics are provided concerning choice of field, success rates, participation by women, take-up and deferral rates for students applying for NSERC postgraduate and postdoctoral awards in electrical/computer engineering fields. Trends in these quantities, and their possible implications, are discussed.<
