The state of the art in reliable multicasting protocols renders itself inadequate for group multicasting in environments where both intra group and inter group messages bridge several LANs. Our objective is to support a reliable ordered delivery service for both local and global messages, while achieving the utmost utilization of the underlying local communication services. We present a multicasting protocol, the “Bottom-Up Stamping”, which achieves a causal order among multicasted messages
