The paper presents an intelligent AI controlled battery charger scheme for electric vehicle applications. The scheme utilized an expert system rule based on-line gain adjustable voltage regulator. This ensures fast charging, limited overcurrent, minimum harmonic distortion at the electric utility point of common coupling as well as ramp down trickle charging control
