A novel methodology for obtaining a simplified symbolic network function for analog circuits is presented. The algorithm is efficient since unnecessary symbolic terms are not generated. Computer implementations show that the proposed method reduces symbolic circuit analysis time and allows larger circuit to be analyzed when an error criterion is specified. Methods to determine the simplification error criterion based on either circuit function accuracy or circuit parameter tolerance are presented
