The authors review the options available for industrial AC and DC systems, and how portions of these standards have been applied in developing the ground architecture for a shipboard electrothermal chemical gun system. They review shipboard practices and philosophy for low-voltage systems and project how this philosophy will lead to the selection of a grounding architecture for an electric gun system. The shipboard standards for routing dedicated, redundant, and survival distribution systems are also reviewed.<
