An analysis of the sensitive mechanism of piezoelectric fluidic gyroscope is made with the method of FEA (finite element analysis) in the paper. The field of airflow which is jetted from the nozzle of the gyroscope rotating in different angular velocities has been obtained by application of the program ANSYS-FLOTRAN CFD. The results show that: when in the state of gyroscope at rest, the air velocity is distributed symmetrically along the central axis of the cavity, the currents crossing and the airflow around hot wires are both equal, the output of the bridge circuit is zero; otherwise, the difference of air velocities at both hot wires brings about the transform of the difference of currents crossing hot wires, and varies with angular velocities, which leads to the asymmetrical velocity of jet flow and affects the bridge output voltage. The FEA provides a valid approach for optimization of the piezoelectric fluidic gyroscope.
