Issues related to interconnection and synchronization are an important part of system restoration drills in the post August 14th environment. This presentation focuses on these issues in the context of the ComEd system restoration plan, PJM as its reliability coordinator, the plans of its neighbors, and the role of MISO as the reliability coordinator of its neighbors. Also included is a discussion of the procedures for interconnection, interconnection checklists, and issues related to synchronization and system conditions that must be considered.
