A multiple model adaptive control algorithm is proposed in this paper to solve whole-process control problem for 500 kW hydropower generators more accurately and reliably. It provides a new architecture of hybrid control. In the new architecture, the control scheme includes four parts: fast servo-control at the stage of generator start-up, fuzzy control of frequency and voltage on the period of quasi-synchronization, double closed-loop PID control and fixed power output control on power network. A simple logic inferential database based on system statues is used in the scheme. The real implementations show that the algorithm may, accurately and reliably, operate hydropower generators smoothly.
