Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems support high data rates in wireless transmission, and require no extensive equalization, yet offer excellent immunity against fading and intersymbol interference. But, the major drawback of these systems is the large peak to average power ratio (PAR) of the transmitted signal, which renders a straightforward implementation very costly and inefficient. There are several methods for reducing PAR. We present an improved version of the maximum symbol control (MSC) method.
