In this paper we consider the problem of data detection and channel estimation for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems operating over frequency-flat fading channels. We propose and analyze an iterative data detection/channel estimation strategy, which is based on an iterative exchange of information between the data detector and the channel estimator.
