A pooled, shared C++ allocator developed for use with the standard template library (STL) is described. The allocator is developed to serve as the core of a road traffic simulator. The C++ allocator facilitates communication and control between multiple processes using data organized in STL container classes. The open source system has been compiled and tested on the Linux operating system and is freely available from its Web site,
