This paper presents a method to estimate bearings of weak signals using stochastic resonance (SR) and frequency shift techniques. After the signals received from the array sensors are translated to baseband and filtered by a stochastic resonator, the signal-to-noise ratio can be greatly enhanced. Higher performance for the beamforming output is obtained using the proposed method, comparing to the conventional beamforming result.
