The paper deals with the synchronization of a multi-antenna receiver for terrestrial digital video broadcasting (DVB-T) in the presence of strong cochannel interference. Two algorithms are proposed which exploit different features of the DVB-T signal. Both algorithms take advantage of the spatial diversity provided by the antenna array. The first algorithm uses the presence of pilot carriers within the DVB-T signal. The second algorithm uses the cyclic prefix property of the DVB-T signal. By simulations, we demonstrate that the proposed algorithms show promising performance even in strong cochannel interference.
