Second harmonics of audible noise from AC transmission lines-Random walk model on space distribution

The statistical distribution function of 'hum noise', which is a 100 or 120 Hz pure tone which generates a complex standing wave near AC transmission lines, is derived from random walk theory. The results are verified by comparing them with data measured on the Akagi test line. In order to evaluate the hum noise level near transmission lines, a concept of a temporal and spatial average level is derived, and a method yielding it is shown.<
