In this paper both SAR and optical images are used, based on D-S (Dempster-Shafer) evidential theory, to detect targets such as linear objects and homogenous regions. We give the algorithm of mass function on D-S evidential theory and use the orthogonal rule to combine the two evidences. The experimental results on selected images, which are marked by different colors to discriminate different target areas, demonstrate its potential usefulness
