In this paper, the authors consider the controller design problem for a fast following synchronizer of a generator system. By using an alternating projection technique based low-order H controller design method, the controller obtained has lower order than those by full order controller design methods and the corresponding closed loop system has expectant performance such as fast following, no overshoot and strong loop decoupling.
