Solutions have been obtained to two problems, namely, the restoration of images degraded by space-variant blurs, using Kalman filtering, and restoration of color images, using multichannel Kalman filtering that is based on a new model of color images that incorporates the interchannel correlations between the color components. Multichannel Kalman filtering for color image restoration can be carried out in RGB, YIQ, or any other color space. Experimental results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the algorithms
