In this paper, a novel welding inverter power source system with constant current output characteristics is proposed, in order to get an independent control of spatter control, weld formation and arc length stability in CO2 Gas Metal Arc Welding. In the system, the waveform fuzzy logic control method is built to guarantee the arc length stability. Some experiments are carried out with the designed system and the results are provided and discussed
