Semiconductor photonic crystals for lasers and functional devices

We have demonstrated unique devices and phenomena utilizing 2D photonic crystals. In this presentation, we mainly report on 2D photonic crystal lasers and defect-based devices using 2D photonic crystal slabs. These results encourage us to achieve ultra-small add/drop devices for WDM application.
