An adaptation algorithm to compensate for the rotor resistance change on the basis of the measurement of DC link power is introduced. In comparison to other schemes which require instantaneous (sinusoidal) stator voltages and currents, the proposed scheme uses more stabilized measurement data with simpler hardware circuits. Principles of indirect vector control using an ideal current regulator and the effects of rotor time constant variations are described. Practical implementation issues and simulated results with embedded measurement error are also discussed.<
