Field patterns within the electrically stimulated cochlea are described by a three-dimensional finite-element model. A radially-oriented bipolar electrode pair in an insulating carrier is modeled in scale tympani. Results are compared with an earlier two-dimensional model, and field pattern sensitivities for selected tissue resistivities are explored
