We study space-time (ST) block coding for single carrier zero-padded (ZP) block transmissions through finite impulse response (FIR) multipath fading channels of order L. We prove that the maximum diversity of order 2(L+1) is achieved with two transmit and one receive antenna. Simulations demonstrate that joint exploitation of multi-antenna diversity and multipath diversity leads to significantly enhanced performance.
